@persebra
You can get a bike insurance, though it’s not required by law as it is with the car.
Just like you can get a bicycle helmet, but you are not required to wear one.

Both make sense, but are not forced on you.

daniel977 August 2, 2010 at 7:10 am

@persebra yeah you can get bike insurances

persebra August 2, 2010 at 8:07 am

do you folks in denmark have to pay bike insurances like people have to pay for auto insurance?

TroWu August 2, 2010 at 8:08 am

@cowanist1

Yeah it is like asking to get a hole in the head… hehe.
But we don’t have a law that say we need to wear a helmet when they’re biking… so most people in Denmark don’t.

Er der overhovedet nogen som har lagt mærke til hvor dårligt vores politiker taler engelsk? Man kan jo gå ned i en hver 2.klasse og finde børn som taler bedre engelsk en de danske politiker.

O.O

Biking withouta helmet are hole in your head!…

RedheadDane August 2, 2010 at 10:09 am

Well… the speed part pretty much comes down to the cyclists themselves… no topic what anyone does I doubt I’d just suddenly start being any quicker…

Sure do, bikes already part of the Danes culture. And it has a fantastic economical impact to Denmark. I have watched some episodes about the country and its literature from MyDenmarkTV on their weekly web based TV show. Long live the pleased Danes.

Let me weigh the expenditure and benefits of living in Copenhagen.

Plus – very bike friendly. This is huge.
Minus – it’s overrun by Muslims who will cut my head off if I don’t convert to their religion.

Tough choice.

Cannondale makes a excellent frame.
I had a Cannondale super v 500.

Now I have a Raleigh M40 DX
And a Schwinn Mesa GSD.

Thay both carry my weight just fine.
And I am not stout.

Do people reckon most American people are stout?

Jesus45U August 2, 2010 at 12:15 pm

@emforty2 :

The stout people are in the cars. ;)

Jesus45U August 2, 2010 at 12:23 pm

It called a rickshaw !! :D
Now they just have to learn how to pedal it!

Greetings from America. U.S.A.
Hi Celyncoin

My bike desires to race your bike.

Is your bike equipped?

Celyncoin August 2, 2010 at 1:13 pm

Initially someone would have to invent a bicycle capable of carrying the average American

Awesome – so pleased to find your website! I wish Chicago could be more like Copenhagen.

KrunchyJD August 2, 2010 at 2:24 pm

Yes we are into sports in Australia, but people in the most part unfortunately do not see cycling as a genteel means of transport. Non cyclists dont treat you very excellent at all, and our motorists have the worst attitude towards cyclists. I just hope Denmark provides a excellent example to the rest of the world in how cycling is a goodform of transport and how cyclists should be catered for and treated.
Denmark Leads the way..
Like a beacon of light in a dark world.

What a fantastic model Copenhagen is for the rest of us. Come on London and other UK cities!

pobanmanu August 2, 2010 at 3:44 pm

And here in Denmark, Media talks about how sportive Aussies are and how cycling is a very excellent thing but people alos have to be sportive.

KrunchyJD August 2, 2010 at 4:26 pm

Brilliant, in Australia we are car obsessed idiots as well. Everyone crows about obesity, Comprehensive warming, pollution, congestion in citys, here is your answer, why dont we do it.

Cuase we are stupid thats why

hanlutrees August 2, 2010 at 5:25 pm

“On request, taxis must carry bicycles”

that’s so convenient!

emforty2 August 2, 2010 at 6:00 pm

why didn’t i see a single stout person ?

im going to guess none of them have the time to belong to a gym or club wasting money sitting on a stationary bicycle drinking gatorade loaded with high fructose corn syrup

lofi73 August 2, 2010 at 6:27 pm

Initially of all that Søren Pind-guy is a moron. He is definetly not doing enough for the cyclists of this city…On the contrary he is supporting construction of more carparks in the inner city and he is against finishing selected streets for cartraffic. He has´nt done sh#t for surpass transportation….He just likes to take credit for it here.
In fact theres way more cartraffic and pollution in Copenhagen today than there was15 years ago

No rush, no helmets, no spandex, wow, this makes my heart sing. Bikes are so loaded with status, such a consumer item in N. America.

These ones are so used, and I don’t see any that would interest thieves!

Bravo, Copenhagen. Bikes on trains, buses, even bike racks on taxis.

City of gorgeous bums, how lovely. How sensible.
