@iamajibber some people get discomfort…..it happens but when it does just stop and give yourself a rest! It takes time for most people to gather strength and dexterity in the fretting hand to the point where they are strong and have alot more stamina. Hammer ons and/or pull offs can cause the hand to cramp if your stretching. Once your very used to doing both actions thats when you can use a softer touch and not kill the strings like begginer people tend to do.

Pulloffs are the most muscle-demanding technique for your pressing hand.
Take your time, but practice a lot so you can get it down quickly and don’t lose heart.
Just as an advice, warm-up and stretch your hands and wrists, this should allow you to play and practice longer and more comfortably.
Cheers.

o that makes sense, yeah doing quick pulloff triplets will hurt your hand but you will get used to them keep practicing!

Entershikarifan99 July 29, 2010 at 9:52 pm

it just gives me a small cramp in my fingers with a while of doing it

iamajibber July 29, 2010 at 10:01 pm

justin rocks. i unquestionably sucked at guitar a year ago, but since ive adept from his lessons ive superior so much. i’ll be able to do this as well as him in a few month probably, and i never expected that.

link2fast July 30, 2010 at 5:33 am

Very right, The best thing to do is practice and keep following the exercise and build your technique, don’t reckon it will come simple. Everything requires some effort.

blueeyesblack July 30, 2010 at 6:29 am

lol justin is jokes. nice lesson

rokku87 July 30, 2010 at 6:34 am

some people really lay their fingers on the fret board nice and hard but that just tires your fingers out quick… keep your fingers tender smooth and your notes clear. also always warm up when you’re about to practice to remove some tension. just get your fingers tender on a simple pentatonic scale… that’s what I used to do…being lose is the key for speed construction. Excellent luck dude!
