This year at the 2009 SLO Downtown Criterium Festival, we introduce the
1st Annual
~ Spoke Create Art Competition ~

This is a chance for artists to contribute their creativity in a unique way, by creating BIG, BOLD & FREE STANDING RECYCLED ART that will be showcased both during Bike Month (May), and in front of thousands of spectators and visitors at the SLO Downtown Criterium Festival on Sunday, July 5th.
The Spoke Create theme is "Reclaim the Mundane!" and speaks to being resourceful through the use of found materials. The mission of Spoke Create is to embrace sustainability, art for art's sake, and the essence of the human-powered mode known as the bicycle.

Cash prizes will be determined by a public vote (People's Choice Award) that will happen during Bike Month (MAY) until July 3rd. Winners will be announced and artists will receive cash prizes on the day of the Criterium, July 5th, 2009.
1st place: $350 and 2nd place: $150
